Mission: To ensure that those members of the Akwesasne community who are having emotional troubles get the treatment they need to feel better.
Saint Regis Mohawk Mental Health Services provide confidential outpatient mental health services for children and adults. We see people for many different reasons such as depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, relationship problems, trouble at work, school, or home, family conflict, sleeping problems, sexual problems, past and/or present sexual, physical, emotional abuse, eating problems and grief/loss.
Often people need a place to talk about their problems and concerns in private. The services we provide include but are not limited to the following: screenings, individual, family, couples, and play therapy; assessment, including psychiatric evaluation; crisis intervention; medication therapy; case management; parent advocacy; Traditional Mohawk Services; respite and home based mental health services; Coordinated Children’s Services Initiative- wraparound services; mental health consultation for Head Start; and school based mental health services in the Salmon River Central school district.
Each person has their own special needs, and treatment is planned specially to meet those needs. Many people include their own traditional methods of healing as part of their plan.
