Tribe’s EOC Reports 2 New COVID-19 Cases: 8 Total Active

AKWESASNE — The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is reporting two (2) new cases of COVID-19 today — making eight (8) total active cases under the Tribe’s jurisdiction. Two (2) of our family and friends have resolved and are still recovering however, one (1) of our relatives remains hospitalized. There also remains 13 Akwesasronon in quarantine at home monitoring for any developing symptoms. We wish them all a safe and symptom-free recovery.
Health Services is reminding their clients of a new direct phone number to check their COVID-19 test results, as well as to add their name to receive the Moderna vaccine. At this time, vaccinations are being provided to elders ages 65-years old or more, High Risk Individuals, Essential Tribal Employees, and Essential Frontline Workers who are enrolled members living within our community’s Southern Portion or in the 15-mile radius of the Tribe. Please call (518) 333-0230 and leave your first and last name, an active phone number, and your date of birth for a return phone call within 48 hours.
As a reminder, Akwesasne residents and employees can schedule a COVID-19 test by contacting Mountain Medical Urgent Care in Malone at (518) 521-3322 or their facility in Massena at (315) 705-0700. Individuals should only get a COVID-19 test if they are showing symptoms or suspect being in direct contact with a positive case. There is no need to get tested weekly if neither has taken place.
